One of the items on the agenda for the City of Chelan Planning Commission meeting last night was a status report on the review of their Critical Areas Ordinance review. The city intends to update the Critical Areas Ordinances which pertain to geologically hazardous areas, wetlands, critical aquifer recharge areas, frequently flooded areas and fish and wildlife conservation areas in this year’s comprehensive plan update.
Part of the discussion included talk of a bighorn sheep migration path from Chelan Butte to above the Wal-Mart/Apple Blossom Center area.
The city is hoping to get public input into this update and, from the discussion last night, it should be a very interesting topic. Hopefully that will mean it generates a bunch of citizen input.
