Hyacinth Road, Manson

The Hyacinth Road neighborhood, which runs along Lake Chelan just down lake from Wapato Point, between Madeline Road and Quetilquasoon Road in Manson. It consists of about 25 waterfront homes (there are no homes on the north side of the street), most of which are set back in deep lots behind apple orchards.

The neighborhood is often referred to by the locals as “Millionaires’ Row” or the “Gold Coast.”  Here’s an aerial view (click for an enlargement):

This is one of the older waterfront neighborhoods that was platted before the dam was installed and Lake Chelan was raised as much as 21 feet!  So, the property owners actually own their beach down to the property line established when the lake was at 1079′ when a full lake is currently at 1100′ elevation.

The homes vary in age, size and style.  There are a couple of beautiful older homes as well as several just built during the last few years.  Most homes have docks and waterfront amenities.  As the nickname implies, it has long been considered a desireable neighborhood.

It is a popular neighborhood for walking for both locals in Manson and tourists staying at Wapato Point or nearby hotels since the street is not too busy and the walk along the orchards is a pleasant one.  The Manson baseball fields, which are maintained by the Manson Parks and Recreation Department, are at the downlake end of Hyacinth where it intersects Madeline Road.

A plat map shows the general layout:
