Lakeside, Chelan, WA 98816

Lakeside was once a separate town from Chelan and was the original hub of industrial activity in the area.  Now, Lakeside is part of the City of Chelan. When coming to Chelan on North Highway 97A, Lakeside is the start of the actual town with Lakeside Park, the Best Western, Chelan Resort Suites and some stores and shops.

Lakeside is located uplake from the Three Fingers and Lady of the Lake terminal as shown below (click for enlargement):

The entire area is half a dozen or so blocks with homes arranged up the hill and downlake from Lakeside Park.

Lakeside park has a large swimming beach, a seasonal boat ramp and grassy expanses to enjoy.  It can be crowded on weekends during peak season when parking can be a challenge.

In the early days, Lakeside was a local hub for industry and had lumber mills.   Logs were floated down Lake Chelan and processed at the town of Lakeside.  The Chelan Museum has quite a bit of information on the town of Lakeside.
